Two souls experiencing the full spectrum of the human experience, on the cusp of a seismic change.

I was inspired to paint this after reading Patti’s memoir, Just kids. It fucked with me on so many levels but mostly it was her relentless artistic spirit that infected me.

The mood of that era, that she played a significant part in creating, is one of rebellious upheaval of the status quo, it’s a transition, a growth. And growing pains. I feel like we are going through similar rites of passage these days.

Maybe that’s always the case.
